If you have a slightly thinner desk, this can be a value purchase. It has lots of adjustable options, from the swivel, and rotate to the panning, you can easily change the orientation of the monitors. Thus this is compatible with programmers, coders, and those who need to have one monitor in portrait mode and the other in landscape. You can do all these multiple adjustments and still enjoy a stable and steady workstation.

The overall build is well-designed. However, if you have thicker desks then that will be a big no-no and you have to look for other options. Also, take note that this monitor arm leans on being more expensive and is a high-end choice.  But it will indulge you with the almost limitless ways you can adjust it. This will be very comfortable for those who are going to burn the midnight oil.

Herman Miller Flo Dual

Weight capacity: 20 lbs

Monitor sizes: up to 24″

Vertical adjustment: 13.3”

Tilt: 80 degrees

Swivel and rotation: 360 degrees

The Flo offers a wide range of adjustments that can help you make your WFH desk more ergonomic. And you can easily change the settings with a simple nudge. The way you adjust it is similar to the cheaper Ergotron LX, only that it feels more stable and smoother in whichever way you adjust it.

If you are working with two monitors, the amount of ergonomics the arms allow for makes a huge impact on your overall productivity. With fuss-free and easier-to-adjust arms, you can easily render your WFH setup more conducive.

It also has a sleek and simple design. The classy design may still give a hint of how expensive it can be.

The tradeoff is that it has a lower weight limit of 20 lbs. Despite the higher price range, this won’t be able to accommodate bigger monitors and is more suitable for small to midsize units.  Also, despite the more expensive price tag, it had more plastic parts. While this does not compromise the overall integrity of the product, it may still seem too plasticky for most people. Some folks might be expecting steel components since it is more expensive.

Herman Miller Jarvis Single

Fully Jarvis Monitor Arm - fits up to 32" Computer Display (Single, Silver) Fully Jarvis Monitor Arm - fits up to 32" Computer Display (Single, Silver)

Weight capacity: 20 lbs

Monitor sizes: 13”- 32”

Vertical adjustment: 13.2”- 19.8”

Tilt: 45 degrees

Swivel and rotation: 180 degrees, base joint 2 up to 270 degrees

External extension: 23.8”

This single monitor arm is a simple solution for a more conducive workstation. It can easily hold the maximum recommended monitor size. We found it very stable and did not rock or shake even when we tried to adjust the arm multiple times. Though it will have a lesser range of motion compared to the Flo, this budget-friendly choice can still offer more freedom than the other ducks in the pond.

The mount it cable management also makes it easier to keep a clean and neat desk. You can easily tuck in the cords so that it doesn’t get in the way. A clean and fuss-free desk can increase your productivity and this can put you into work mode faster even if you are still in your pajamas.

Ergotron LX

Ergotron LX Premium Monitor Arm, Single Monitor Desk Mount fits Flat Curved Ultrawide Computer Monitors up to 34 Inches, 7 to 25 lbs, VESA 75x75mm or 100x100mm Matte Black Ergotron LX Premium Monitor Arm, Single Monitor Desk Mount fits Flat Curved Ultrawide Computer Monitors up to 34 Inches, 7 to 25 lbs, VESA 75x75mm or 100x100mm Matte Black
$179.95

Weight capacity: 25 lbs

Monitor sizes: up to 34”

Vertical adjustment: 4.5”-8.5”

Tilt: 70 degrees backward, 5 degrees forward

Swivel and rotation: 360 degrees

This is a more affordable yet highly adjustable option. If you love how the Flo moves but it’s not within your price range, this is its knockoff. The overall build may be inferior compared to the Flo but it is decent, stable, and can hold more than what the Jarvis single monitor arm can accommodate.

However, it may need a bit more time for the setup since it has a slightly bigger build that is suitable for bigger monitor sizes. But you will be able to adjust it as how you would go through the Flo. The vertical adjustments, however. May also be a bit limited. You may not be able to increase the height of your monitor that much.

Mount-It! Triple Mount with USB and audio ports

01/30/2025 04:27 pm GMT

If you are juggling three monitors in a single desk, this is one of our top choices. This can simplify the way you work. Though this is not the most ergonomic option in the bunch since you will not be able to extend the arms out.

May we start with the overall build? This bad boy is quite strong and can hold down its forth. Though the setup might be a bit complicated given that it has more parts that you have to fuse, it’s going to be worth it.

Despite lacking the freedom to extend the arms out,  you will still be able to tilt, swivel, and rotate each arm independently. So you can change the orientation of the monitors as needed. It also has some extras that can amp up the convenience for busy people. It has USB ports and offers an easy way to manage the cords to make it not visible to the people passing by your desk.

This can make up for a more sophisticated and highly functional three-monitor setup.

Monitor-Arm-Recommendations-for-a-More-Ergonomic-Setup

This is an upgraded version of the Ergotron X, boasting more muscles and bones that can make up for a more stable and strong workstation. Thus, this is suitable for bigger and heavier monitors, but you can still enjoy the same seamless adjustments as the LX unit.

It has a higher weight limit and you can adjust the monitors independently in multiple ways. This model looks very posh and robust, and it has very minimal plastic parts too.

The arms glided smoothly and we did not experience any difficulty adjusting the parts, it went very smoothly. Though one of the caveats is that the height adjustment range is quite limited, this might not be able to add sustainable height to your monitors, so consider this when finding a desk that you would use with these monitor arms, or better yet pair it with an adjustable standing desk.  But in terms of ergonomics, it can help you work more comfortably and productively for longer hours.

Humanscale M2.1 Single

Weight capacity:   5.5-15.5 lbs

Monitor sizes: up to 32”

Vertical adjustment:  10.4”

Swivel stop adjustment: 90, 180 and 360 degrees

If you need more from your monitor arm, this will suffice your needs. It has a lot of adjustable features and you can also connect the arms to a laptop docking station, though you would have to purchase this separately. This is also a great fit if you have a lighter monitor. It also fits in a Humanscale ecosystem.

Though the first thing that will draw you to this Humanscale monitor arm is the aesthetics, it just looks regal and can help lighten up a gloomy workspace and make it look more corporate-ish, so to speak. We cannot argue how strong and steady this performs, though intended for lighter monitors, you can tell of the robust construction and quality materials.

Workstream Monoprice Dual

Weight capacity: 19.8 lbs each arm

Monitor sizes: up to 27”

Vertical adjustment: 15” – 34’

Tilt: 90 degrees

Swivel and rotation: 90 degrees

The first thing that drew us to this is the extremely robust construction. This almost has no plastic parts, it has an almost all-metal construction that can set it apart from the other monitor arms in this list.

However, one of the key points to consider is that it can only rotate and swivel up to 90 degrees. So you will not be able to freely change the orientation of the monitors. But it’s very easy to extend the arms and push or pull the arms in any way that can help you manage your workflow. However, the limited swivel can help limit ease of flow when you are sharing work with your colleague on the next desk.

This is also an affordable option, so it can suffice your needs if you have a smaller and lighter monitor.

Clearspace Uni-2 dual

Weight capacity: 4-22 lbs each arm

Monitor sizes: 17”- 35”

Tilt:40 degrees

Rotation: 180 degrees

Swivel: 90 degrees

This has a rather different design than the other monitor arms on our top list. The two arms are both situated on the same pole, so they may function a bit differently from the others. Each arm has its own slider connected to the pole,  which enables you to still adjust the arms independently.

It does have an array of adjustable features, but the main selling points are the robust construction and the very regal look. This is the type of unit you’d often see in an executive’s office. It feels very stable and steady, not rocking even when we intentionally shake it. The cable management system is also very cleverly hidden, it looks very clean and makes the desk spacious.

This is also a smarter choice that can pass off with a smart ecosystem. It has a standard Smart Hub that provides a single USB-A and USB-C port. The more regal look and the additional options for connectivity make this an option for upgrade.

WALI Single monitor arm

Weight capacity: 19.8 lbs

Monitor sizes: up to 32”

Vertical adjustment: up to 23.62”

Tilt: 35 degrees

Swivel: 90 degrees

Rotate: 360 degrees

Extension: 18.34”

This is a premium choice that looks posh and feels extremely strong at the same time. It can hold very heavy monitors and still allow for more room for movement. You can rotate, swivel, change the height of the monitors, and pull them closer to you according to your needs and workflow.

The points of articulation are excellent. But it may be a bit finicky to make the adjustments since you will need a tool for this. Though it is also included with the purchase of the unit, this can be a hassle if you constantly change the position of the monitors multiple times, so that is one thing to consider.

We Also Tried These

Vivo STAND-V002 Dual Monitor Stand

This is a very affordable monitor arm that has options for multiple adjustments. It is also becoming a household name and you can easily spot more recommendations for this arm. But it slid off our list because we were not satisfied with the overall construction.

Even the single-arm unit of the brand has quite a flimsy build and it easily shook when you accidentally bumped into it.

AmazonBasics

This is another affordable arm and can sustain your needs if you are working with a minimal setup and a lighter monitor. The best selling point of this cheap monitor arm is that you can increase the height of the monitor up to 30 inches. It can add substantial height, especially if you have a stationary desk.

It slid off our list since we found it too flimsy and not able to hold it forth like what we wanted. And oh, while it can increase the height of the monitors, the range of motion is somewhat limited.

Buying Guide: What We Considered More

Here are the things that helped us pick monitor arms that can make you more comfortable and productive at the same time.

Range of motion

This was perhaps our primary consideration when we made this list. We chose monitor arms that can help your desk space be more ergonomic, especially if you are going to work with more than one monitor.  This is also crucial if you need to work for more than 5 hours in front of the desk.

The multiple options for adjustability, the swivel, rotation, tilt, and extension can help ease your workflow. It can lessen the unnecessary tension folks often experience when working with more than one unit on their desk.

Robust build and construction

Our list includes a myriad of single, dual, and triple monitor arms. Regardless of the type, we made sure to include only stable and steady units.

Our list is a mixed bag of nuts. We have all steel arms, plastic ones, and those that are made from a combination of both materials.   Regardless, we picked only those that can help keep your monitors steady even with constant adjustments.

And oh, we gauged robust build vs the ease of adjustment. Neither should interfere with the other.

Easy Cable Management System

A messy desk can mess up your head. It can wreak havoc on your workflow. This is essential if you want to have a more positive work mindset and be in the mood even though you are working from home.
